Generally speaking, green screens are made of synthetic stretch nylon. However, any bright green fabric will do, although the rendering may be different. It's even possible to find walls painted entirely in green as a substitute for fabric.

Green background shooting is not done just like that. There are some basic techniques to follow for successful shots. For example, the person or object being filmed should be as far away from the green background as possible. Lighting must also be optimal for both the background and the subject. Finally, the subject must not be wearing any green.

Why green exactly?

The choice of green is not accidental. In fact, it's a tone that's considered to be the furthest removed from human skin. As a reminder, the green background is used to insert a background of your choice. To do this, it must disappear to make way for the background.
